A terrific Tuesday night show as Tony gets geared up for the start of the NFL Playoffs. A big game in Dallas as the Cowboys host the Eagles. The Cowboys won both the regular season games, but does that mean anything in the post-season? Cowboys safety Ken Hamlin joins Tony to talk about the matchup and the success of the team in December.

More coaching changes in the NFL as Mike Shanahan is hired by the Washington Redskins. The Chicago Bears fire Offensive Coordinator Ron Turner? Will Charlie Weiss take over the play calling in Chicago? With the latest on that and other NFL news/notes is FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer. We managed to pull Jay away from a steak dinner with Michael Strahan. Jay says he wants to talk to Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell about getting in shape for 2010.

A great finish at the Orange Bowl as Iowa beats Georgia Tech 24-14. QB Ricky Stanzi 231 yards 2 touchdowns as the Hawkeyes win their first major bowl game since the1959 Rose Bowl. Afterwards Stanzi joined Tony from the Iowa locker room to talk about the win.

Tony is back and fired-up for the start of 2010…

It was “Black Monday” in the NFL as several teams fire their head coaches. In Washington, the Redskins say so long to Jim Zorn after a disappointing 4-12 season. Reports already that Mike Shanahan is in talks with owner Daniel Snyder to take over as head coach in D.C. Tony talks about that and other NFL news with former Redskins great LaVar Arrington.

It’s the off-season in Major League Baseball, but Tommy Lasorda is fired up. The Dodgers Hall of Famer Manager was listening ton Tony on KLAC in Los Angeles and called-in to voice his opinion on NFL teams ‘sitting” players in the final regular season games.

The College Bowl Season rolls on, as Boise State beats TCU 17-10 in the Fiesta Bowl. The Broncos finish the season 14-0, but have nothing to show for it because there is no playoff system in College Football. The BCS Title Game is Thursday with Alabama v.s. Texas.

Some big news off the court in college hoops with USC placing sanctions on its men’s basketball team. No post-season play for the Trojans, as the school punished it’s hoops program for recruiting violations involving former player O.J. Mayo. CBS Analyst, Seth Davis drops by with his thoughts on the USC sanctions and the arrests of 4 Tennessee basketball players over the weekend.

A wild Wednesday show, headlined by the news of Manny Pacquiao/Floyd Mayweather fight possibly being called off due to a dispute between blood testing. Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, tells Tony that he has no problem calling off the fight, why his fighter will not go through a random blood test, and if there is a deadline to make an agreement.

Bowl season is officially in full swing, as the Pac-10 continues to suffer with California losing to Utah in the Poinsettia Bowl by a score of 37-27. Following the game, Utah’s star freshman QB Jordan Wynn talks to Tony about his fantastic record at Qualcomm Staduim, Utah’s consistency every season, and his plans for the holidays.

Speaking of college football, CBS Sports College Football Analyst Aaron Taylor stopped by to talk about all things football. Being a teammate of Brett Favre in Green Bay, he gives his take on the whole Vikings drama situation. He also talks about how good Ndamukong Suh can be in the NFL and picks his winner for the national championship game between Alabama and Texas.

A terrific Tuesday show, with plenty of NBA, NCAAB, and NHL action throughout the sports night. BYU laid the smack down on your Oregon State Beavers in the Las Vegas Bowl by a score of 44-20. It didn’t even seem like Mike Riley’s team wanted to play!

Looking forward to the upcoming NFL week, Tony had his weekly chat with FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer. The two discussed Mike Holgrem’s new position with the Cleveland Browns and Jay’s favorite subject, kickers! Also, is Mike Shanahan closing in on a coaching job and which coaches are on the hot seat?

In one of the greatest comebacks in NBA history, the Sacramento Kings defeated the Chicago Bulls last night after being down by 35 points in the 3rd Quarter! Guided by new coach Paul Westphal, this Kings team is exceeding all expectations as they are close to .500 on the season after being the worst team in the league last year. Star rookie guard Tyreke Evans drops by the show to reminisce over the win and talk about his phenomenal rookie season.

Christmas Gifts Under $20

Most of the following items can be found at Kmart, Walmart, Target, CVS Pharmacy & Walgreens (They might even be open 24 hours for those of you who are totally S.O.L. and need REALLY last minute gifts.  Also, it’s acceptable to order something online, even though it won’t be delivered on time.  Just print out a picture of it, and put it in an envelope with a card. Write something romantic and mushy in the card…….trust me, she’ll LOVE it!

Earrings/Jewelry – As long as they look pretty, it’s about the box it comes in.  Buy a box if necessary, add some cotton and THEN wrap it.  (Make sure her ears are pierced, otherwise get a necklace.) You can find beautiful jewelry from $5.00 and up in several stores. Mall booths, CVS, kmart.com, Walmart.com, etc.    (I just can’t stop staring at this funky gold ring. It has a cool swirl pattern that kind of looks like a fancy monogram. The ring has a super-shiny finish, so it’ll “illuminate” any wardrobe. (modcloth.com, $12.99))

Jewerly Tree – Why would you want her to tuck your pretty little earrings away in a box when she could make them part of her decor? This ornate tree has sturdy enamel branches that will hang onto earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces (and she won’t waste time searching for backs or untangling chains). (urbanoutfitters.com, $14, Walmart.com, kmart.com)

Make up Kit – What girl doesn’t love beauty goodies? I found several kits by Urban Decay at Sephora and I think the Primer Potion, Big Fatty Mascara, and other eye makeup essentials will soon become some of her beauty must-haves. (sephora.com, $11. You can also find great make-up kits at CVS, kmart.com, Walmart.com, etc)

Leather Journal – I can’t imagine a better place to jot down thoughts about your hopes, dreams, and sexy escapades than this vintage-looking journal. The distressed leather gives the book a romantic vibe, and it looks like it was found at an antique shop, but you can find them in other stores as well.  *Bonus Points – Write something wonderful about her on the front page so whenever she opens it, she’ll think of you.) (barnesandnoble.com, $19.95)

Cashmere Gloves – A perfect gift for the holiday shopper on a budget – these 100% knit cashmere gloves by Jaclyn Smith are both luxurious and inexpensive. These soft knit cashmere gloves are just what those on your list need to keep their hands toasty warm on these frigid winter days.

(kmart.com, approx $19.99)

Pashmina/Scarf  – “You can never have too many friends or pashminas.” Okay, so maybe that’s not exactly the famous quote, but it should have been. The “wear with everything” cashmere wraps can be pretty pricey, but these silky scarves are basically the same thing and cost three times less. (peachcouture.com, Kmart.com, Walmart.com, approx. $9.99)

Chalk Note Glassware – We’ve all been there: You’re finishing off a couple of bottles of wine with friends, and the next thing you know you’re asking everyone, “Is this my glass or yours?” This smart chalk note glassware solves that problem by allowing you to write your name on your glass. You can even jot down the name of the wine you’re drinking on the carafe. (pier1.com, $3-$10)

Cocktail Maker Set – Practically everyone has a couple of bottles of booze lying around, but very few can claim to have a bar. Change that with this very sleek bar set. It comes with a shaker, ice tongs, bar knife, waiter’s friend, double jigger, and, of course, a bottle opener. Give it to a crush, and she or he may just invite you over for a nightcap. (target.com, $17.99)

Artsy Bottle Stoppers – If you had to give the same gift to everyone on your list, this would be it. Keeping wine and champagne fresh is a simple (and always welcome) idea, but it’s amazing how many people don’t have bottle stoppers. Trust us, these decorative glass models will go over very well. (iamwoman.com.au, $12.95. I’ve also seen these in mall booths.)

A great Monday night show as the Giants spank the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football with a 45-12 win. How much longer will Jim Zorn stay as the head coach of the lowly Redskins? Are the Giants a sleeper team to pay attention to now that they are on a little hot streak?

A great week of NFL action, as Ben Roethlisberger threw for 500+ yards in the Steelers’ victory over the Packers. Another QB to throw for 500+ yards in a game, Warren Moon, stopped by to talk about all the latest football news around the league. Moon discussed topics such as the addition of Mike Holgrem helping the Cleveland Browns and if the Vikings’ locker room is divided after Brett Favre stood up to Coach Childress?

The hottest team in the National Football League right now is the San Diego “Super” Chargers, as they won their ninth straight game this past weekend, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 27-24. Chargers’ safety Eric Weddle talked to Tony about clinching the AFC West and why this year’s team has a different attitude about them heading into the playoffs.

A fantastic Thursday night show as the Colts stayed undefeated with a 35-31 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was Indy’s 23rd straight regular season win. Colt’s kick returner Chad Simpson, who had a 93 yard return TD and joined Tony after the game to discuss the win and possibly going undefeated in the regular season.

Tony predicted almost two months ago that a Temple-UCLA bowl game was on the horizon, and he was right on the money as the Owls and Bruins will be facing each other in the Eagle Bank Bowl in Washington DC on December 29th. Temple head football coach Al Golden spoke to Tony about the first Owls bowl game in 30 years, their matchup with UCLA, and possibly taking another job in the college football world.

Tony then talked to UCLA head football coach Rick Neuheisel about the Eagle Bank Bowl, taking his team to visit the White House (and asking Tony for a hookup to meet the President!), and what’s next on the recruiting front.
