It’s a busy night tonight on ‘Into the Night.’ We’ll have the best guests, great calls (and Jose probably) and the best updates in radio. Tony spends the first segment guessing about the gender of South African runner Caster Semenya. Next we toss around songs to play regarding the subject. Somehow we forget ‘Lola’ by the Kinks. Our listeners and texters kindly remind us though.

Man or woman?

James Shields of the Rays joins us, and I don’t have a good segway for that. But the Rays are hot, and are in the wild-card chase with teams like the Red Sox and Rangers. James was happy the Rays got a win tonight. Tony and James had a nice laugh about Joe Maddon’s new hairstyle. Apparently it’s some sort of Johnny Cash road-trip haircut.

Just for Men in action?

Jared Allen of the Vikings next joined the show. If you’ve never heard a Jared Allen interview before, a fair warning: he’s insane. He talked of course about the Vikings and Favre. You can hear the entire in its entirety on http://www.tonybrunoshow.com.

Finally, Rick Neuheisel, head coach of UCLA joined the program to talk about Tim Cates’ beloved Bruins. He’s optimistic about the team’s chances for 2009, and the team’s goal is to make a bowl game. He also offered Tony a roster spot if he has any eligibility left.
