A Wednesday edition of Into the Night, live from Burbank, CA. Mel Antonen, Baseball Insider for USA Today, was on to sort-through a full day of MLB action. Big News for the Phillies as Pedro Martinez had a great rehab start and could be in the Phillies rotation soon. Giants gain another game on the first place Dodgers in the NL West. Plus, the Tampa Bay Rays stay alive in the AL wildcard race.

NFL Training camp news: Eli Manning signs his new contract. It’s a big-one. He’ll make about 15 million a year. He now makes more than brother Peyton. No new injury news. However, we do have trouble-makers getting busted for Marijuana possession. That’s right. Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Juqua Parker reportedly takes a bad left-turn and is pulled over by a traffic cop. The cop smells something funny…

Jeff Tedford from CAL joins Tony to talk some Bears football. After a 9 win season in 2008, Coach Tedford is expecting big things in 2009. Running Back Javid Best is considered a favorite for the Heisman Trophy.

Tom Curran from NBC Sports joins the show during the third hour. He was just at Buffalo Bills training camp. He weighs-in on T.O.: the reality-show drama-king is a fine physical specimen. Will he take the Bills to a new level? Curran and Tony hash it out.

Great updates tonight. Including a ‘green’ update about peeing in the shower and its positive effect on the environment.
