It was Red Wine Friday and Tony was fired up for another weekend of the NFL Playoffs. Four games including a big matchup in Minnesota with the Vikings hosting the Cowboys. Can Tony Romo continue his playoff run or will it be the end of an era for Brett Favre? Of the field, what’s the latest on Tom Cable’s job status in Oakland? Jason LaCanfora, from the NFL Network, was on with Tony to break down the matchups and latest news from around the league.

What about the odds on the four NFL Playoff games? Will the Colts and Chargers cover in their games? What about the Saints-Cardinals game in New Orleans? Our man with the odds, John Avello from the Wynn in Las Vegas goes over all the numbers.

Three days after Lane Kiffin left Tennessee to take the job at USC, the Vols hired Derek Dooley, Friday, as their new football coach. Coach Dooley spent the last three seasons as the head coach at Louisiana Tech and before that was an assistant at LSU under Nick Saban. Coach Dooley joined Tony, Friday night, after his press conference in Knoxville to talk about taking over a Vols program that desperately needs some stability.

A terrific Thursday edition of Into the Night as Tony can’t wait for another weekend of NFL Playoffs.  Helping him break down the 4 games is former Bills WR and current CBS analyst Steve Tasker.  Can the Cowboys go into Minnesota and beat Brett Favre and the Vikings? Can the Jets and Ravens continue their run through the playoffs? Steve Tasker also weighed in on the Bills head coaching search and who might end up with the job.

Devastation hit the island of Haiti this week with a 7.0 earthquake. The people of Haiti are now faced with the reality of the death and destruction that has ravaged their country. The fallout from the earthquake is directly affecting people in the sports world too, including Indianapolis Colts WR Pierre Garcon who is of Haitian descent.  Pierre is now and trying to get help to the people there and can use your help. Check out his website www.piergarconlive.com

A pleasure to have on the show a Stanley Cup Winner and Gold Medal Winner in former NHL great Theo Fleury.  He enjoyed a great 16 years in the National Hockey League, but lived an even wilder life off the ice with drug and alcohol problems. Theo has a new book out called “Playing with Fire,” which also reveals how he was sexually abused as a youngster by his former junior hockey coach.

A jam packed Wednesday night show as Tony reacted to the Lane Kiffin press conference. Kiffin was introduced as the new head coach at USC after only one season at the University of Tennessee. Fans in Knoxville are not happy with the way Kiffin left them. Do they have a reason to be upset?  Monte Kiffin, new USC Defensive Coordinator, joined Tony to talk about coming to Southern Cal and the scrutiny that he and his son are taking for leaving Tennessee after only one season.

Reaction still pouring in from Mark McGwire’s admission that he used steroids. A man who is a baseball fan and historian of the game is legendary broadcaster Larry King. He joined Tony to talk some baseball and weigh-in on steroids in MLB. Larry was upset with Jose Canseco after the former slugger canceled on him last minute as a guest on his Larry King Live Show.

With the hiring of Lane Kiffin at USC, we ask the question….Who should be on his coaching staff? Here are some suggestions

A jam packed edition of Into the Night as Tony was all over the Lane Kiffin to USC story. After only 14 months on the job in Knoxville, Kiffin, returns to Southern California as the new head coach at USC. Former Trojan RB Lendale White joins Tony to talk about the turnover at Troy and whether Lane Kiffin will make a good head coach.

Apparently the fans in Knoxville weren’t too happy about Lane Kiffin bolting and they showed their displeasure by rioting on the UT campus. FOX 43 reporter Jill McNeil was live on the scene and described to Tony what was happening around her.

Football fans are gearing up for another exciting weekend in the NFL Playoffs. Can the Ravens and Jets continue their post-season run? Is this finally the year for Phillip Rivers and the Chargers? FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer stopped by to weigh in on the playoffs and the latest coaching news. A lot helping Tony break down the NFL is former head coach Jim Fassel. A lot of speculation in Oakland that if the Raiders fire Tom Cable, Jim Fassel will take over as head coach of the Silver and Black.

Tony and the crew enjoyed a Red Wine Friday. The wine was flowing and so was the Pete Carroll talk. With the Seahawks firing Jim Mora Jr, a rumor circulating that Pete was leaving USC to take over as head coach in Seattle. FOX NFL Insider, Chris Landry talked with Pete Carroll then joined Tony with the latest. Chris reported that the rumors were true, the CEO of Seahawks, Ted Leweki, meet with Pete last week and will meet again this weekend. Barring a disaster in talks, Pete Carroll will be the new head coach of the Seattle Seahawks in a deal with $7 million a year.

The NFL Playoffs kick-off on Saturday with two great Wild Card games: Jets-Bengals and Eagles-Cowboys. NFL Network Insider, Jason LaCanfora, stops by to preview all the games and has all the latest news/notes from the National Football League, including the coaching situation in Seattle.

It’s Friday, that means we go to Las Vegas and check in with the Wynn’s Johnny Avello. What are the odds on the 4 NFL Wild Card games? How did Vegas hold up after a busy Bowl Season? Our man Johnny has the answers and the latest odds from the sports book!

Congratulations to Alabama as they beat Texas 37-21 to win the 2010 BCS Championship Game.  Heisman Trophy Winner Mark Ingram led the charge with 22 carries, 119 yards and 2 touchdowns. After the game, Alabama QB Greg McElroy joined Tony to talk about the win and what it means for the Crimson Tide to win a National Title. Also helping Tony break down the X’s and O’s of the BCS Game is Coach Terry Bowden.

It’s Wild Card Weekend in the NFL. Ironically, three of the four games are rematches from week 17. The only game that isn’t a rematch is Baltimore v.s. New England. A man calling the Ravens-Patriots is Westwood One’s Mark Malone, who joined Tony to break down the matchup.

A night after the Clippers big win over the Lakers, Frankie Muniz stopped by to celebrate the victory. The actor-turned-race car driver is the #1 Clippers fan and wanted to come on the show to show his support for Baron Davis and the fellas.

A wild Wednesday show as Tony gets you ready for the BCS Game between Alabama and Texas. The Longhorn fans made the trip out, as there is plenty of Orange walking around the streets of Hollywood. Who do you like to win the game?

First round of the NFL Playoffs kicks off on Saturday with the NY Jets at the Cincinnati Bengals. A man calling that game for NBC is former Redskins QB Joe Theismann.  He joins Tony to break down the matchup and give his thoughts on the “hot teams” entering the playoffs.

MLB elected 1 new member into it’s Hall of Fame. Former Expos/Cubs OF Andre Dawson got the call to go to Cooperstown. Congrat to The Hawk! Former right-hander Bert Blyleven, came up 5 votes shy of getting elected. He joined Tony to talk about the disappointment and his hopes of getting into Cooperstown in 2011. After all it will be,.. “Blyleven in 2011″
